King of Prussia is a census-designated place in Upper Merion Township. King of Prussia has an estimated population of 19,936 residents as of the 2010 census. King of Prussia is the location of the second largest shopping mall in the United States, the King of Prussia Mall. The mall is a driving force in the economy of King of Prussia bringing in jobs, income, and stability. The area is rich in shops, entertainment, as well as offices and restaurants. King of Prussia was originally constructed as a cottage in 1719 by Welsh Quakers William and Janet Rees. The cottage was then converted to an Inn in 1769.
